So how much does wedding photography cost?
The extensive price range can be confusing and this will ultimately depend on how important your wedding photography is to you as a couple. It is generally recommended you spend approximately 10% of the whole wedding budget. It’s good to work out your total budget for your wedding, write a list and prioritise the parts of your wedding day that have the most value to you.
It all goes back to the old adage, You get what you pay for. You could find someone who enrolled in a photography night class that advertises ‘wedding photography’ for £200 and they will provide a basic reflection of your day. However you’re unlikely to find someone who’s trained to perfect their craft over years in that price bracket. And I’m not a fan of ‘learning on the job’, so to speak, as your wedding day is not a dress rehearsal! So ideally, if you value your wedding photography you don’t want some fool behind the camera ‘winging it’ on your once in a lifetime wedding.
If your wedding photography is a priority to you it’s a good idea to look into the photographer’s training, skills and professional experience. Another factor to take into account when booking a more experienced wedding photographer is the skill that’s involved in post-production, as a professional photographer will take the time to edit your images in their signature style.
Your wedding day photography can range from a couple of hundred for a photographer that’s inexperienced, who’s likely to be ‘learning on the job’, or run into thousands for a photographer that’s spent a small fortune on years of training and equipment to become a master of their craft.
Here at Picture Your Dream Photography, I feel we offer an incredible wedding day photography service at an affordable price.
